Gohara House in Kure, Hiroshima

Located in the city of Kure, Hiroshima province (Japan), architects Suppose Design Office has designed this house for a young couple. In a plot of 450 m2 has been built this house with 110 m2 of floor and two floors, although the top has been placed only a small parking lot. The architects have designed the project as a simple structure organized as four boxes together rectangular sequential longitudinal sides by a corridor that contains the service areas, mainly the kitchen and a bathroom. And all without even one internal division. The four rectangular spaces created around small courtyards with each other to be fully glazed, while the front facades are completely opaque. Thanks to its shape and distribution, the house is completely integrated with the landscape but retains the right doses of privacy.
The use of materials has been as austere as the interior: concrete and glass construction, wood and leather furniture with neutral colors has been chosen for the interior. The kitchen is tailored so perfectly aligned with the architecture of the house, as well as the bathroom, fully glassed and integrated into the common area. There is no internal division in the distribution of the different uses can be done simply by the shape of the plant, a sequence of spaces and patios that makes your relationship with the outside becomes continuous. In one of them has a small pond located below the aesthetics of the glass walls of the courtyard.
