Modern House in the Sierra de Collado Mediano
The order consists of a detached house situated on a plot of steep and moderate size with exceptional views of the Sierra de Navacerrada in Madrid. The project expanded on the natural slope and is positioned at the place organized and competent tight outdoor spaces generated between the construction and property boundaries. Through an external staircase communicates gently sloping plot with a generous terrace on the house. This space allows the time to enjoy the stunning views and the development of outdoor activities such as kitchen, living room, sunbathing, shower, etc. This operation creates a strong continuity between man and land use and space, terrace housing, emphasizing the understanding of the house as a true extension of the plot, creating continuity in use and travel. The house volume is increased gradually from the first approach. The height at the front of the access road is of a plant while the front upper reaches have two plants by the superposition of the study on the master bedroom. In this way the volume is naturally integrated into the steeply sloping ground leading in turn access to the home of more human scale. It thus produces some ambiguity in their perception from different viewpoints toward the house. The materials used on the facades are traditionally used in the Sierra de Madrid and basically outlined in white plaster walls and tiled roofs of slate. Slate tiles are used as ventilated façade on deck and on the front exposed to the view from the outside, as if it were a protective shell. The interior is private instead of white plaster. The solid construction of housing with solid structure of reinforced concrete slabs and steel supports is limited perimeter fencing with a 35cm ceramic multilayer thick sausages leaving the brackets, insulators and facilities in a large inner chamber. Black slate slabs are placed as a grid of aluminum cladding on adding an effective ventilation chamber. To physically and visually communicate the interior with exterior spaces, it gives the house enough inputs and outputs to provide a desired permeability, while allowing the maximum use of the plot.
