Modular prefabricated house by MYCC
Despite being a modular house prefabricated house does not look Cedeira hut “design”, or recycled container, but that just seems a house has its gable roof (required by the rules of the area) hinged windows and airy interior more like a urban loft of a farmhouse. Cedeira is located in a remote countryside population in the Galician coast, with an imposing presence of the ocean on the horizon, surrounded by graceful eucalyptus forests and fields of work. This holiday house situated in a Galician landscape print is a good example of how to make “no-build sustainable housing, cheap and most difficult … livable. Cedeira House is a project carried out by young Madrid studio MYCC.
MYCC architects (comprising office Carmina Casajuana, Beatriz G. Casares and Marcos González) have determined that the form of construction is a simplified geometry of the traditional house. The resulting volume has been involved in two materials, which establish a language with the surrounding landscape: Viroc ®, a precast concrete and wood chips eucalyptus gray deck and side walls, and the two main facades pierced by weathering steel a silhouette recreates the surrounding forest. The cement gives great strength to the building, despite being a lightweight and easy to transport, the two cut facades endowed with a strong personality to housing thanks to the powerful play of light and shadows created on the interior.
