Everything comes from the Icelandic power company Landsnet, in collaboration with the Association of Icelandic architects who, tired of the usual square piers and disfiguring the landscape, they decided to hold a competition to redesign the face of these elements.

Of all the projects submitted Adaptability seems to be the winning design. The traditional pillars of metal, in short, will give way to these majestic masts made of composite plastic futuristic eco-reinforced resins resistant to temperatures, UV rays and wind. The pylons have been designed in a clear marine biotoxins biomimetic (a fact reminiscent of the bone structure) through which the London firm has succeeded in creating a lightweight but extremely strong. The pylons Adaptability, thanks to the CNC production, may be produced in different size (17 to 32 meters) and at lower cost. With their soft design better characterize the scenarios Icelandic (and not only!).

The project name comes from the will of the London studio to create new pylons capable of adapting to the needs of different landscape, characterized by a different design but not more severe, austere and sweet staff. Hence the possibility of producing every time a pillar of different sizes, specifically designed for a specific landscape.

The white is the color that characterize these beautiful pillars. And if you’re already thinking about the dirt and weather resistant, no-problem. The Adaptability will be coated with a thin layer (sprayed on surfaces) in Lotus effect thus always guaranteeing the perfect beauty of the pylons.
