The fashion brand Prada has refused to be left behind in the latest cutting-edge trend: open temporary stores that last only a few months. His new pop-up store in Paris is a must for visitors to the city before next February, when the store will disappear. The design of the club of 570 m2 and two plants located in Place Beauvau 92, has been entrusted to architect Roberto Baciocchi and presents a selection of garments pret-a-porter women’s, handbags, accessories and shoes.
The shops pop-up is already unavoidable trend in the fashion world this fall have continued brands like Dr. Martens, Colette or Phaidon, the publisher of design books. These projects with an expiration date designs are associated with very commercial, pop sensibility, or even experimental and radical.
Prada is surprising world with its spectacular and innovative stores created by big names in architecture and design. And this place is a surprise, this time of postmodern aesthetics, exaggerated and almost kitsch, but certainly in Paris.
Despite the Italian roots of the brand, this project has focused Baciocchi inspired air and bohemian Montmartre. It has created a false explicitly made scenery images trompe-l’oeil that since the street recreate the silhouette of the bridge Mirabeau, the first built of steel structure and was immortalized by the popular poem by Guillaume Apollinaire. The scene is complemented by a row of mannequins located on the outside and continues inside the store, where the silhouette of the bridge crosses a dramatic path to the stairs.
To make matters worse, the interior is complemented by displays of bronze and glass, carpets and furniture upholstered in purple velvet, floor to ceiling mirrors in abundance and a checkerboard marble floor in black and white that recalls the original Prada flagship store opened in 1913 in the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II in Milan.
