Sustainability House Design by Mecanoo Architects

The Dutch study Mecanoo Architects working on the basis of sustainability and a love of nature and Nefkens Villa is a clear example. This is a house whose sinuous forms pay homage to the countryside and the river adjoining the express wishes of their owners. In the Dutch town of Wageningen, where the confluence of the Veluwe park, the valley and the river Rhine Gelderse, Nefkens family has found the place where you build your home. The design of the house, designed by the architectural firm Mecanoo, is inspired by the beautiful views that can be enjoyed from the living room and master bedrooms as well as from the spacious kitchen-living room.
The transition from indoor to outdoor villa is gradual and thanks to floor to ceiling windows you can enjoy nature in autumn and winter. The rounded, smooth contours were an express wish of the family Nefkens to stay close to nature and why not, to achieve a single dwelling.
