The chair Pio Manzu revisited by Renato Stauffacher Alias1

The prototype is dated 1967, when Pio Manzu conceived this chair for La Rinascente, born from a project never edited ergonomic seat sports car. Starting from the original guidelines (after meeting with Giacomo Manzoni, the son of the designer), Renato Stauffacher of Alias ??has recreated its ergonomics combining it with some technical innovations: the base, for example, was built thanks to a digital model, in turn realized with the help of some archival images.

The curvature of the body has been slightly revised by milling a 3D model of the chair in polystyrene, to evaluate and implement the best possible solution and also the footrest four races was created with the same technique, to be perfectly stable and compact. The result is the rediscovery of refined aesthetics for an object that defies time thanks to the elegant leather cover available in different colors.
