The interior design of a library for students
The study DKO Architecture was commissioned by the Australian Federal Government’s Building Education Revolution to create the interior design of a library for the students of St Joseph Primary School in Melbourne.
Attention has been focused on building an environment of wide-ranging and not confined to accumulate volumes of paper and audiovisual material, but it can also give way to interact with these elements, following a philosophy necessarily so contemporary and hi-tech .
Much importance was given to the presence of light and intelligent use of space, suited to the dynamic nature of children and also their desire to learn. The intent of the architects was to create an environment that can encourage students to read and study, but without forgetting the fun part.
