The Italian Tower Hotel in Abu Dhabi

The ‘ IT Tower is a tower over 160 meters high, primarily for multi-purpose hotel. The whole operation will be the hallmark of “Made in Italy”, since each stage (from conception, design, implementation, management) is entrusted to Italian subjects and the nature of innovation, creativity and elegance.

This is an innovation in the local landscape and architecture for energy reasons.
From an energy standpoint, the structure (thanks to the strip complex geometry that surrounds and protects it from solar radiation, the envelope with double skin and internal spatial distribution) will be able to interact with the climate, use ventilation natural environments, use renewable energy sources, reduce energy consumption considerably.
From the architectural point of view, the concept is based on the model of so-called “vertical city” plans rooms will alternate levels for other functions, such as offices, restaurants, gardens, swimming pools, conference area, wellness area etc..

The tower will appear as a layering of overlapping elements, pointing out that its internal functional articulation.

The architectural form of the tower is a combination of three elements:
- A tape that has perimeter structural function, will contain all vertical connections (stairs, lifts, hoists, dumbwaiters, etc..) And the plant wells. Horizontal start forming at an altitude of ground volume that contains the lobby, foyer and conference center, will bend becoming vertical to the summit will form the roof, come back to earth on the opposite side and ends on the function of the base;
- Volumes suspended from one end of the tape (40 m) containing the plans to rooms and other functions. The floors are horizontal beams supported by two long-walls. The casings are all double skin with sunscreen section and distance variables;
- Some glass boxes jutting interlocked volumes, dedicated to host special functions.

Each of the three elements will be compositionally characterized by a different geometry that carry the “complex” to “simple”:
- The tape, given its architectural, structural and functional element will be more complicated and convoluted variable. The cuts tilted, slanted surfaces and natural folds, will give the whole a dynamic and distortion, without entailing complications construction;
- The volumes of the plant floor rooms will be regular rectangles (40×20 m.);
- The windows are of simple rectangular boxes.
