The new design hotel from Philippe Starck in Venice

The first time that Philippe Starck is commissioned to design a hotel in Italy could not be a project far more French designer: converting an old Venetian palazzo on the banks of the Grand Canal in a luxury hotel signed to the brand Design Hotels , Ñ ¢ .
Emanuele Garosci, former rally racer and now owner of Palazzina Grassi, the renowned French designer chose to create an imaginative and magical hotel while luxurious and sophisticated as to make the guests relive the sixteenth century Venice. Garosci could not have been happier with the result: “We needed something new in this city so special, think otherwise Venice – Starck was the answer. Palazzina Grassi Hotel is a unique space where guests can live as Venetians. ”

Among the streets of the city of canals, the only sign of a bull’s head mark on the door, hides Palazzina Grassi, a magical world of mirrors, glass sculptures, antique books and articles vintage of all kinds. The classical references abound in the hotel, and in contrast to the geometrically designed interior. Toques traditional Italian terra-cotta bricks seen or Murano glass sculptures living with contemporary design Philippe Starck, the master of surprise. The medieval palace of the seventeenth century, it was a spa in Roman times, has become a luxurious and modern hotel that retains the aurea and charm of an aristocratic Venetian house.

And not only the design is special, but the service offered to customers who can enjoy and be picked up details on a boat from the 60s which made the check-in before arriving at the hotel’s private dock, or attend a private dinner with antique dealers in the city and Venetian cooking classes.
The hotel, rated with five stars, it has 6 apartments and 16 rooms, all with fabulous views over the rooftops of the city and decorated with the unique stamp Starck. Though, come equipped with the latest technology, LCD screens, wireless Internet access … The rooms are large mirrors, Venetian wooden floors, natural stone baths and furniture made to order. In the rooms, the bed is located in the center of the room and was surrounded by transparent glass cabinets, soft carpets and tables made of steel and stone.
