Villa Dali by 123DV Architecture
The Dutch study 123DV brought together the expression of Salvador Dali, The forms of the Jugendstil (youth style “common to Liberty Movement Europe of the early 900), the Spanish style of the facades and the typical marine life in one villa.
Developers of “Villa Dali” asked 123DV study to design a home that reflect all their passions and that is why the building is characterized by typical elements of the nautical world (the setting of the rooms just remember that the hold of a ship), decorated with sculptures on display as a museum and particularized in the style of Dali.
In the first project phase clients have submitted to the study of architecture 123DV also images of the ancient Spanish architecture and finishes are very common in Jundestil saying he was fascinated by that white face and the steel lines that they wanted to be remembered in their home.
So the Dutch architects have taken up the challenge by designing the house with the paranoid-critical method (spontaneous method of irrational knowledge based-criticism concerning the interpretation of delirious phenomena) Dali’s trying to create optical illusions.
The result is a cylindrical building with a predominantly white color that conceals a spiral nautilus, which commemorates the underwater world. The facade closed in the part facing the street is inspired by classic Spanish architecture, while the wooden panel of six meters is clearly inspired by Art Nouveau (Jugendstil for the Netherlands). Even the interior was designed by 123DV to be placed within the context of this particular house.
The result of the experiment of bringing together so many elements and inspiration from different fields would say it is successful in this Dutch study, the building you would have interpreted it differently?!
